Hobo Std font(“ново”, Russian for “new!”) is a sans-serif typeface. It’s far uncommon in having certainly no straight strains and no descenders.
This makes it quite unique as there are not many fonts with this style of design to choose from! Hobo was created by way of Morris Fuller Benton and issued by means of American typefounders in 1910, making it one hundred years old but just like any timeless masterpiece that has stood the test of time its popularity among designers never seems to flag; especially now when we’re all about vintage looks and lettering styles on everything we touch or wear – including our homes’ decor pieces such as hangings.

The Hobo font is one of the most mysterious typography mysteries, and all sorts of theories exist on how it came to be. One theory states that its call comes from a story claiming that in the early 1900s some unknown designer sketched out this font anonymously before sending it off to the foundry with little revision done so over time people started calling it “that vintage hobo” because Adface was patented alongside Light Hoho as well around 1915.
The Hobo Std font is perfect when you want to create an ornamental or whimsical effect. This typeface was designed for use at large sizes but can be used in smaller applications as well.
This Truetype font has no descenders and the lowercase g, p, q, and y are integrated into the x-height. The Hobo font imparts a pleasant persona to show work which includes invitations, menus signage packaging. All letters finish on the baseline with curved lines – there is not an instant line here!
