Andrew Paglinawan, a professional typography artist and photo dressmaker have created a new typeface Manila Sans Font. Commissioned by means of the printing hub, Andrew’s work is focused on creating fonts that are suitable for Philippine cultural narratives.
Sans Serif didn’t start off with that name. In 1956, Sans Serif was born in the small town of Münchenstein as a new typeface created by Swiss designer Max Miedinger and his friend Eduard Hoffmann. The font is still used today because it’s pleasing to read on screens such as TV or digital displays.

In the late 1800s, Eduard Hoffmann commissioned a typeface called American Type Founders (ATF) to compete with other competing foundries.

Miedinger, an artist and photographer before he became a typesetter, created the design based on Hoffman’s instructions. He finished it by summer of 1957.
After their parent business enterprise of Stempel foundry was destroyed by bombings in World War II, Haas Typeface Company set out to make a fresh typeface that would live up to its name.

The company wanted it so badly they had trouble presenting the new font under any other family’s call; there simply is no better match for this kind of work than stempels own signature style.
